Excel Homes is breaking out the champagne in a big way in 2023, as the renowned Alberta homebuilder celebrates its 35th anniversary – and they are inviting everyone to join the party.

For three-and-a-half decades, Excel Homes has been part of the homebuilding fabric of the province, and it plans to be an even bigger part of it in the coming years.

“Since we first began in 1988, we’ve built over 13,000 homes in over 80 communities and we have received over 50 awards for design and industry excellence,” says Excel Homes Marketing Manager, Kristina Plank. “Excel Homes is proud to not only build new communities in Calgary and surrounding areas, but to be a part of the community. We look forward to sharing many more years together.”

In 2023, Excel Homes has some exciting surprises planned, including new releases such as new anniversary models, new specifications, and more! “We have lots of fun special events planned this coming year, as well as giveaways and more. Stay tuned for all the exciting details!” Plank says.

The past year had seen Excel Homes beef up its presence in communities throughout the Calgary Metropolitan Area. It opened new showhomes in several new and exciting communities, including in Creekstone by Apex Developments in the southwest, in Rangeview by Genstar in the southeast, and also in Cobblestone Creek by Melcor in Airdrie.

“Despite the challenges facing the home building industry this past year, Excel Homes had a strong year,” Plank says. “Our sales were strong and with the help of our industry and trade partners, we were able to help our customers make their dreams of owning a new home a reality.“
Today, Excel Homes is even better positioned for a massive 2023. Several new models will be introduced this year to commemorate its 35th anniversary, including two front drive homes, one laned and two duplex models.

The first anniversary model released will be The Bennett, a 2,045 square-foot front drive family home, with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. This model has just been released and is now available in most of its Calgary and area communities.

“The Bennett will be the new show home opening in Silver Spruce later this year. If you want a home that grows with you, The Bennett model offers the versatility and functionality that you are looking for with a main floor flex room, walk-thru pantry into the kitchen and a large bonus room upstairs. There is room to grow in this home,” Plank says.

That is just the tip of the iceberg as far as Excel’s anniversary celebration models are concerned. “We have more beautiful new models and new selections coming this spring, plus special anniversary pricing and bonuses” she adds.

Excel also plans to make the community at large part of its celebrations, as Plank says this relationship has held the key to the company’s success.

“We plan on celebrating with our customers, industry partners and with everyone in the community, with lots of fun events, giveaways and sponsorships planned throughout the year. We could not have made it to 35 years without them, and we want to give back to express our heartfelt gratitude,” she says.

Excel Homes will be rolling out special offers, bonuses and pricing just for its anniversary.

“Plus, we will be hosting a customer appreciation day this summer to say thank you to our Excel homeowners, who have helped us achieve this milestone.”

Current Excel Homes communities include Cobblestone Creek and Chinook Gate in Airdrie; Livingston, and Carrington South in the northwest; Homestead, and Savanna in the northeast; and Mahogany, Rangeview, and Walden in the southeast. Creekstone is the sole southwest community Excel builds in, but it will be joined by Silver Spruce later this year.

Although the challenges of high inflation and elevated interest rates might be seen as headwinds against growth in the coming year, Excel believes that the opportunity remains for significant progress in 2023.

Excel believes that there are plenty of positive indicators that point to a strong 2023, including the low unemployment rate in Alberta and the growing number of people migrating to the province. “Alberta is a very desirable place to live and the demand for new housing continues to grow,” Plank says.

She adds that even with the higher interest rates, it would be better to buy a new home now than to wait later.

“Buying a new home now gives you the ability to lock in your interest rate with a rate hold, which gives you some protection from future rate increases,” she explains. “In addition, the cost of land, labour and supplies is expected to increase in 2023– buying now locks in the best price for you.”

And buyers can significantly get an advantage through Excel’s anniversary promotions. “Excel Homes wants to celebrate its milestone anniversary with you, the buyer! This means that there will be brand new models, new specifications, and special anniversary bonuses and pricing. There’s no better time to buy than in 2023!”
