Spring has sprung, and like clockwork, so have new showhomes. Each season, new homebuyers are regaled by the innovative new designs, and sparkling new features that Edmonton’s homebuilders bring to their latest models. In many of them, “wow!” comes standard.

Showhomes have always been the best tool for homebuilders to attract buyers. It allows them to not only show off their skill and expertise in homebuilding but gives buyers an aspirational glimpse of the lifestyle that is possible for them.

All the new communities in Edmonton and region have exciting showhome parades to go through, a good tip is to go through the winners of the recent CHBA Edmonton Region that we have in this issue to pick out a list of showhomes to visit. To further “guide” the readers, Edmonton New Home + Condo Guide picks a few of the latest in town.

Why go to a showhome?

If you’re looking to build a new home, the first step is to look for one that can fit your lifestyle, and this is where showhomes come in.

“Showhomes provide such a benefit for potential homebuyers for several reasons,” says Jenna Rilling, Marketing Manager for Brookfield Residential. “They provide people with a tangible representation of what their future home could look like which is so helpful especially for first time homebuyers who may struggle to visualize what a floorplan may look like fully built and helps people imagine themselves within the space.

“Buying a home is an emotional decision and showhomes help to provide people with the opportunity to see, touch and, most importantly, experience their future home firsthand,” Rilling adds.

Michael Halak, Marketing Specialist at Homes by Avi, agrees, adding that they serve as a quality benchmark, showcasing the builder’s workmanship and materials.

“Showhomes also offer insight into the community and neighborhood amenities. With knowledgeable sales representatives, show homes provide professional guidance throughout the home-buying process,” he tells Edmonton New Home + Condo Guide.

What’s new?

Brookfield Residential is proud to introduce the Harper and Mackay duplex showhomes with front-attached garage in The Orchards. The award-winning community in southeast Edmonton is the perfect setting with its picturesque nature and an abundance of amenities such as nearby schools, green spaces, walking trails, and a community Club House.

“They are brand new models that were release late 2023, and they have been incredibly popular since,” Rilling says. “Having a front attached garage on a duplex home has been very attractive to our homeowners and not only do both models offer this, but the Mackay has a double car garage too. Both floorplans also offer three bedrooms upstairs as well as a bonus room providing affordable flexibility for a growing family.”

Homes by Avi debuted showhomes for the Jefferson front-attached home and the Sasha laned home in Marquis West last fall, and both have been a big hit in this young and dynamic northeast Edmonton community.

The 1,582 square-foot Harper has a spacious rear u-shaped kitchen that features sleek glossy cabinets, a captivating honeycomb backsplash, and elegant grey quartz countertops. A main floor pocket office offers versatility for homework or remote work, while upper floor laundry adds convenience.

“For the Harper showhome, the biggest standout is the suited basement. Not only does it provide a secondary living space for supplemental income, roommate, or additional space, but the selections are light and bright making it a very inviting space,” Rilling says.

For the 1,737 square-foot Mackay showhome, the biggest standout is the double car attached garage. “The entire floorplan is extremely functional for a busy family which translated into the selections chosen. We love the deep brown/green cabinets in this home that add to the rooted feel. This color can be spotted in the décor and wallpaper as well,” Rilling says. “Experience unparalleled luxury and comfort in the Jefferson show home, where every detail is thoughtfully designed for modern living,” Halak says.
The Sasha is 1,523 square-feet with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, and it seamlessly blends style and functionality.
