Her design approach is to create environments inspired by nature, with plenty of natural light, and colours and textiles, giving residents a feeling of vitality and a sense of calm. Each building has been designed with your happiness and well-being in mind. Accessible washrooms and showers, extra wide doorways and hallways and emergency call systems in all common areas and suites are in place to ensure peace of mind and security for residents and their loved ones. Using fresh and locally sourced ingredients in a restaurant-style atmosphere, residents that choose to stay in, can still enjoy a dining out experience. Chief Culinary Officer, Dana Schiefer, says the key to the unique in-house experience is offering choice. “We offer multiple dining venues, with all-day dining and menu options that change regularly. Residents have a say in what they would like incorporated on our seasonally inspired menu. Menu items can always be customized to meet residents’ dietary restrictions and the executive chef will customize a meal for a resident’s taste, or even make a dish that is not featured on the menu if requested. At Parkland, each meal is a social occasion. Day-to-day, residents enjoy table-side service with newfound friends or family and on special occasions you can reserve our private dining room and have the event catered by our in-house chef.
