The Henderson: A home designed for the times

The pandemic demonstrated the importance of a well-designed home, and Morrison Homes’ The Henderson show home in Sirocco at Pine Creek shows just how attuned it is to the times we live in.

A mainstay in Morrison Homes award-winning line of front-drive, move-up homes, The Henderson show home in this young southwest community comes with everything that today’s families need, and then some.

The open concept main floor allows the free flow of movement from the kitchen, dining room to the great room, the fabulous quartz-topped centre island is the hub of style and function, and a covered courtyard deck off the kitchen extends the entertaining capabilities of the home.

The show home stands at 2,500 square-feet on the dot, a little larger than the standard 2,373 square-feet. The additional space is mostly accounted for by what could be the most apt design option of the day – the lifestyle room adjacent to the master bedroom.

Separated by double doors from the master bedroom, this lifestyle room adds some 120 square-feet to the size of The Henderson. “It adds flexibility to the design of the home,” says area manager Neil Dutton. “Families can use it as a hobby room, a sitting room, they can convert it into an attached nursery room. It’s perfect as a quarantine room for the times we live in.”

Functionality and flexibility, indeed, are the key words in describing The Henderson. The kitchen is the heart of the home but what supplies the life blood to it is the fabulous walk-through space from the mud room with a butler pantry and the roomy walk-in pantry. “It answers every family’s need for storage space and design efficiency,” Dutton says.

The walk-through concept is carried through in the attached ensuite of the master bedroom where one can wind their way from the stylish bathroom, through massive his-and-hers walk-in closets to the most sought after family luxury – an extra roomy second floor laundry with sink.

“We have plenty of options for this plan to make it work for any family’s needs. We can do a main floor bedroom suite for multi-generational families, we can switch the bonus room from the top of the stairs to the other end of the home with a study loft, we can convert the courtyard deck into a flex room – whatever works for the family,” Dutton says.

Best of all is its location in the young and up-and-coming community of Sirocco at Pine Creek by Anthem United. “It is a low-density community, so it will remain quiet even when it is built out. You will never have to worry about through traffic and homes will retain their value here.”

Affordability is also a key factor, and Morrison Homes front-drive, move-up homes here start from $465,000, including home, lot and GST. “That gets you an 1,800-square-foot, two-car attached garage, two-storey home, it’s a great deal,” Dutton says.

Morrison Homes has eight standard plans in Sirocco at Pine Creek, and Dutton says there are some amazing deals for lots backing onto a pond. “We have nine walk-out lots backing onto the pond, and some can have triple-car garages,” he says.
