Toronto Festivals you can't miss before summer ends

The back to school commercials have already arrived and there's still a couple of weeks left until labour day. Instead of locking up the cottage and going sweater shopping, it's time to make the most of summer. There's still many events and festivals left in the city for you to enjoy. Whether it's the food, the presentations of culture or the entertainment that gets you out enjoying city life, August and early September are jam-packed with activities. We're not letting go of summer just yet.

Here are some great annual Toronto festivals to attend this month:

It's the time of year where people across the GTA and Toronto head to the Ex for some end-of-summer fun. Rides and old-timey test your strength games and other activities will keep the kids entertained, and you may just win a stuffed animal to bring home. But the major draw to this festival is the food. CNE food is famous (and infamous) for being delicious and artery-clogging at the same time. This is your cheat day for food, so why not indulge? Last year the main new food features were chocolate fried chicken, and a thanksgiving feast on top of a waffle. This year, a ribfest will be open every day on CNE grounds along with a Craft Beer Festival from August 28-30. If you leave the CNE's indoor food building you don't have to go far to spot more treats: Food Truck Frenzy featuring many vendors will also be on the grounds.

UPDATE: Some of the food choices that are trending for this year's CNE include a notorious Cake Poutine and three new burgers that pack big flavour and calories.
