Why we bought a new condo

Catherine Matheson and John Dukelow, radio advertising executives with Jewel 92 FM/Evanov Radio Group, recently bought a new condo at Senses Condominiums in Oakville, by Empire Communities. We caught up with them to chat about their new purchase.
YPNextHome: Why did you decide to buy a condo, versus a lowrise home?
Matheson and Dukelow: We like the low-maintenance condo living lifestyle because we travel a lot. We also don’t have to worry about cutting grass in the summer and snow removal in the winter.
YPNextHome: What other home types did you consider?
Matheson and Dukelow: We were only looking at condos; it fits our lifestyle.
YPNextHome: What were the main determining factors in your decision – location, price, amenities, lifestyle?
Matheson and Dukelow: All of the above. There’s a real sense of community here and it’s a short walk to the lake. Senses is in the revitalized Kerr Village where there are quaint shops, delicious restaurants and all of the amenities you need. There were great incentives and for the quality, size and price. We couldn’t go wrong.
YPNextHome: What did you end up buying, in terms of development and unit size?
Matheson and Dukelow:We purchased a two-bedroom plus den suite. We’ll have amazing views thanks to the windows that wrap around the suite.
YPNextHome: If other similar projects were available in your selected area, what led you to choose Senses?
Matheson and Dukelow:The price compared to other condos near the lake. The Oakville GO Station is also close by and we’re excited for the continued revitalization of Kerr Village.
YPNextHome: What are you looking forward to the most in your new condo at Senses?
Matheson and Dukelow: Breathing the fresh air close to the lake. We can’t wait to go on bike rides on the nearby trails, work out at the gym and entertain friends with a barbecue on the outdoor terrace.
