DiCenzo’s founder, Tony DiCenzo, built his first home in 1952 while making ends meet for his family by working at Stelco. He then applied his tireless work ethic and business savvy to broader endeavours which included subdividing land, home construction, rental buildings and communities and shopping malls, eventually becoming one of the largest land owners and developers in Southern Ontario. With the apple not falling far from the tree, Tony’s son Anthony, a lawyer with a thriving practice in Hamilton and Toronto, began helping his father with his projects, eventually succeeding to the position of President and becoming the directing mind of both DiCenzo Homes and his own development company, Nexus Developments. Under his leadership DiCenzo Homes expanded even further, not only in the number of homes constructed from year to year, but also in the diversity of what the company built.
