Victoria Park’s lifestyle is definitely that of busy young professionals who love to dine and drink out on a regular basis. With a thriving scene of great restaurants and bars, the residents of this area love to support local businesses. While these residents love the convenience of stepping out their door to grab a bite to eat, they also love the convenience of artisanal markets and fine liquor and wine shops nearby.
Victoria Park is a lively and adaptable community that is on the rise. The residents of Victoria Park are a mixed crowd but young professionals are definitely the one’s buying up all of the new condos in the area. Plenty of great spots to eat and drink in the area make this neighbourhood more of an adult area, however there are great playgrounds and even a Montessori Pre-School in the area – making it a great community for families who love inner city living.
Victoria Park is centrally located with close access to several downtown schools including both elementary and high school. Sheldon Chumir Health Centre is the closest health location; only blocks away it is very convenient for residents. Haultain Park is a great centrally located park that has a playground, sports field, benches and picnic tables, as well as a tennis court and community garden.
Victoria Park is located so close to the downtown core, that is one of the best neighbourhoods to commute from by foot. Residents also love using Car2Go and the cycling lanes to enter downtown. Along MacLeod Trail there is convenient city buses as well as close access to Victoria Park LRT station.
Victoria Park is a very busy area, especially with all of the new developments currently under construction. While it does get quite peaceful at night, you can expect it to be somewhat noisy during the daytime hours. Thanks to its central location, Victoria Park is also home to several social wellness centers including the Mustard Seed and Inn From the Cold.
As mentioned, Victoria Park is an area in transition. With new condominiums being built regularly and the area becoming gentrified, the price of local amenities are definitely rising as well. However, you can still find both affordable accommodations and amenities in the area.
