Liberty Village

Toronto

Introduction

Liberty Village is a busy and trendy neighbourhood. It's located near the heart of downtown Toronto and bound between Dufferin to the west, Strachan to the east and King to the north. It's ultra urban, but because of the way it was designed, it has a tight, community feel. It's a true village within the city.

Lifestyle

The community offers the ideal live-work-play lifestyle with its mix of urban, commercial, retail and residential real estate. Liberty Village has a youthful vibe to it and really exudes that village feel, because residents don’t feel the need to leave the community. From great nightlife to vibrant commercial activity, it caters to the lifestyle of its residents.

The Vibe

This former industrial neighbourhood is all about what’s going on within! It’s defined and removed from its surrounding communities, literally walled in and separate. Liberty Village is nestled into the funky Toronto South areas of West Queen West and Parkdale, which are walking distance from all the major hot spots such as, the Entertainment and Fashion districts.

Meet the Neighbours

Because it’s so close to the city’s core, Liberty Village is a popular neighbourhood with a young professional crowd. There are a lot of singles who enjoy urban living and want it all right in their own community – from day jobs to nightlife. The industrial factories and warehouses that once dominated Liberty Village have been converted into chic lofts and one-of-a-kind condos.

In the Area

Most condos at Liberty Village range from $200,000 to $600,000. As more residential areas are being developed, the real estate market continues to thrive and provide economic growth to the neighbourhood. The coffee shops and restaurants trend towards the upscale, with a designer cup of coffee in several different spots.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Liberty Village is an ideal neighbourhood for commuters. With walking distance to GO Transit stops and 24-hour streetcar lines, it’s easy to get to the downtown core. It’s also a quick trip to Billy Bishop Airport for the frequent flier. Cabs are ideal and economical for crosstown jaunts since Liberty Village is close to everything.

The Good, the Bad & the Rest

Liberty Village captures the value of convenience. Whether a food lover or an exercise junkie, Liberty Village has it all. Many former factories surrounding the area have been repurposed as different eateries, fitness studios, unique furniture stores and art galleries. BMO Field, on the CNE grounds to the south is home of Toronto FC, which draws the sports enthusiasts too.

Dollars & Sense

The neighbourhood may not be ideal for families or couples that are planning to expand. With one- and two- bedroom condos dominating the market, there are a limited amount of larger homes. If driving is the preferred method of travel, be prepared for some traffic, as there are few exits from Liberty Village, and parking is expensive and inconvenient – tickets are plentiful as the lots are constantly monitored.
