Lakeshore Road West winds its way from the downtown core through to Bronte area, and in between is home to the area’s largest park, Coronation Park, which hosts the Waterfront Festival every June.
For residents living downtown, the QEW is your best bet for traveling east or west. The bus system is very user friendly, with the depot located at the GO train station just off of Trafalgar at Cornwall, conveniently located for access downtown, and for commuters to Toronto. A new multi-level parking garage at the GO station accommodates commuters and residents traveling in and out of Oakville for work.
Residents in this community are in the market for something a little high end. Lakeshore Road is a hub for designer stores with not-so-little prices where shoppers can find one of a kind luxury items. If you are looking for a night out for dinner, expect to pay above average prices, but experience something special in the meantime.
The residents of the downtown area are predominately well established and settled older professionals who may prefer a slower pace while still enjoying convenience. Younger residents like the downtown feel of the community without the big city bustle. Slowly, Old Oakville is beginning to attract a more artistic and culturally in-tune group of residents.
