The neighbourhood is marked by Eglinton to the north, the railroad tracks west of Caledonia to the east, Rogers Road to the south and the Union Pearson Express rail to the west.

The Evelyn Gregory Public Library is located at Trowell and Keele, while a Unison facility offers health and community services to residents in need.

When it comes to public transport, exciting things are happening in and near this neighbourhood. The site of the future Keele Station of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is in the area, which will undoubtedly increase property prices and transit convenience for residents. Currently, bus service is available on Eglinton, Keele and Rogers Road. Drivers appreciate easy access to Black Creek Drive, which connects to the 400 and 401.

The Good, the Bad & the Rest

While the Eglinton LRT will be a positive addition to the community, construction is currently causing plenty of headaches along Eglinton Avenue, with lane closures affecting traffic and construction vehicles, dust and noise a nuisance. While families and seniors appreciate the quiet surroundings, those seeking downtown excitement may be disappointed by Keelesdale-Eglinton West.

Dollars & Sense

As Keelesdale-Eglinton West is a bit further from the city, housing and rental prices are more affordable. The area’s grocery and retail offerings are on the cheaper end, with discount grocers like No Frills and the Real Canadian Wholesale Club in the area as well as a Value Village. Many eateries advertise great deals for lunch or weekly specials.
