Willow Grove

Saskatoon

Introduction

With construction having begun in 2004, Willow Grove is finally starting to look as beautiful as promised. The parks are wonderfully landscaped, the homes are elegant, the schools are welcoming and the centre square is beginning to see some commercial development. Willow Grove, located on Saskatoon’s east side, is bordered in the west by Arbor Creek and Erindale, while all other borders face undeveloped land.

Lifestyle

Development in this neighbourhood is finally slowing down and showing signs of completion. Now that it's beginning to feel calm and relaxed, Willow Grove's sense of community is growing. This area is perfect for wealthier families and couples who intend to settle down and raise a family. While it is on the outskirts of the city, being near University Heights means that residents have access to many restaurants and shops.

Dollars & Sense

Willow Grove is one of the most expensive communities in the city. Homes are mostly large detached houses with the exception of some multiple-unit dwellings. The nearby University Heights features a range of available shops with a wide variety of prices, although the restaurants tend to lean towards the more expensive side.

The Good, the Bad & the Rest

This is a fantastic neighbourhood and it is difficult to find flaws here. Ongoing construction and development here is nearly completed, but some yards and areas are still unfinished. This will likely improve quite quickly, however. The brand new elementary schools are a positive asset for the neighbourhood and the central square is also something residents really enjoy.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Since this neighbourhood is located at the outskirts of town, owning your own vehicle will make life a lot easier. However, the many nearby commercial developments mean that walking is an easy way to get around. Buses run through Willow Grove and this is generally the preferred way for students to get to the university. The neighbourhood's walking paths are fantastic, offering residents plenty of opportunities for staying active.
