CURV: Passive House Design Soars

Think Vancouver’s vibrant and diverse West End neighbourhood can’t get any better? Well, think again, because CURV is arriving soon. Developed by Brivia Group in partnership with Henson Developments, this 60-storey tower is truly going to be something fresh, exciting and unique in the ’hood.

Taking a cue from the curved form of a new shoot, world-renowned architect Tom Wright—known for the seven-star hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai—designed an elegant, undulating façade that will become a tangible symbol of regrowth and environmental hope. This stunning esthetic will be architecturally bold yet ultimately inviting, a revolution in sustainable, urban living.

Kheng Ly, founder, president and CEO of Brivia Group, explains CURV will not only be the world’s tallest passive house design and Vancouver’s tallest residential highrise, it will be the most energy-efficient structure of its type ever built, an iconic, eco-friendly addition to the downtown Vancouver skyline.

“We hope CURV will become a blueprint for future towers around the world as cities push for a more sustainable future,” he says, adding he believes this residence fits perfectly with Vancouver’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

The Passive House standard is celebrated around the globe for its ability to reduce energy and emissions, using just 1/10th of the heating and cooling energy required by traditional residential towers. Residents benefit in a number of other ways, too, including increased comfort, ultra-quiet ambience year-round, and exceptional air quality. These homes are also super-insulated with advanced quality windows, reducing both your energy bills and noise. Good for you, good for the environment.

Above It All

Located at the high point of downtown Vancouver on Nelson Street between Burrard and Thurlow Streets, CURV will offer a total of 362 condominium homes starting on the 21st floor.

Planned amenities are extensive and diverse. Here are just a few hints: a children’s outdoor play area; a state-of-the-art fitness centre and yoga room; a 61st-level rooftop deck with a Sky Spa, outdoor chef’s kitchen and dining area; social lounges with TV screens; a hotel-inspired lobby; and secure bike and parcel storage areas.

CURV will be located at 1083 Nelson Street. Sales begin later this year when the presentation centre opens at 510 Burrard. To be among the first to learn more, register online today at thecurv.ca.
