Daytona is aware that Edmonton remains a hotbed for new home buyers, and they are meeting surging demand for new housing with their line of affordable and stylishly functional duplex, laned and front-attached garage homes, including several spec and quick-possession homes.

Wilson says Daytona’s spec homes – or pre-planned homes – stand out not only because of the more than three decades of experience they have in building homes but also because they pay attention to what buyers want.

“Our pre-planned homes typically include upgrades that make the most sense in the current market conditions. This information is compiled using data from pre-sold homes, and the upgrades that are most popular with our buyers. This reduces the stress of the selection process as everything is done for you!” Wilson says.

“We have homes available for possession ranging from immediate (two weeks) up to 6 months away from completion. We have something for everyone!”

Getting a home built from scratch is the ideal way of owning a home but buying a spec home – meaning one where construction has started based on the specifications pre-selected by the builder – is a terrific option for those on a tight timeline. And this is where experience matters.

They are also found in Ardrossan, Hillshire in Sherwood Park, and Jensen Lakes in St. Albert.

Buyers’ choice

One of Daytona’s most popular models in Edmonton right now is the Tiguan II, a rear laned home at 1,707 square-feet.

“Most of our customers are adding a legal basement suite and a garage garden suite to this model to give them the opportunity to rent out the basement and the suite over the rear detached garage,” Wilson says.

He also points out that building these extra suites have been popular among their buyers. “Daytona builds a lot of these suites, and they are designed perfectly for the rental market and customers love the extra income!” In fact, their new showhome in Crystallina Nera has a fully developed basement that gives visitors a taste of the lifestyle available to them.
