Edgestone by Foxridge in South Surrey

It was a grand celebration in South Surrey on Sept. 21. That was the day Edgestone officially opened its brand-new presentation centre and display homes. And savvy homebuyers couldn’t have been more delighted.

Comprised of 62 single-family homes, Edgestone continues Foxridge Homes’ legacy of excellence in South Surrey. “This is our third community in this neighbourhood — that’s over 200 homes that are either under construction or have people already living in them,” says Diane Zarola, director of sales and marketing.

Long known for its meticulous attention to detail and quality, the Foxridge team has taken some bold new steps in design at Edgestone. “We’ve introduced so many new finishings, and it feels like more are arriving every day — flooring, tiles including some in a new 24x24-inch large format exterior stone, the list goes on,” Diane says.

She’s particularly excited to now be able to offer black or gold as options for cabinetry hardware as well as black lighting fixtures – a sophisticated, contemporary look that’s all the rage among high-design circles. “We’ve also added three colours of painted cabinetry in kitchens and bathrooms; light grey, dark grey and navy blue. People absolutely love them because they’re so different than what you typically see in the market.”

The show home is, naturally, spectacular. Clearly designed for people who love to cook, the kitchen features a large centre island, gas cooktop and wall oven, and an intriguing new mini-brick backsplash in white to perfectly complement the stainless steel hood fan and polished chrome hardware.

There’s a soaring great room – think 19-ft.-ceiling with transom windows and you’ll get the idea. And here’s the coolest part; this inviting, sun-drenched space features a floor-to-ceiling fireplace unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. This beauty is designed with a dark-stained timber mantel and a ceramic tile surround below, while above, a highly-textured, off-white wallpaper creates a dramatic focal point.

“South Surrey is a wonderful neighbourhood,” Diane says. “You’re minutes to the border, all the shopping at Morgan Crossing, the new aquatics centre, several golf courses, and a selection of restaurants that just keeps getting better. Young, growing families are also thrilled that the brand-new Edgewood Drive Elementary, located just a hop, skip, and a jump away, is on schedule to open in 2021.”
