The community of Sherwood Park is located just east of Edmonton. It is a community that has seen tremendous growth over the past two decades with well over two-thirds of Strathcona County residents residing here.
Growth is the abiding promise in Sherwood Park. Even now, there are several ongoing residential developments that make it the perfect place to put down roots in. There is the ambitious Centre in the Park at the heart of the community that will combine residential, retail and public spaces to make it a true urban centre of the future.
Both Salvi Group and Cameron Development are building contemporary mixed-use condos at Centre in the Park. Salvi (www.mysavona.ca ) offers luxury condo living and mixed-use retail for those who crave convenience, coupled with style and simplicity. While Cameron Developments (www.camdevcorp.com) is building a new mixed-use development that includes a multi-storey residential building and is located across from Strathcona County’s administrative offices and community centre, shopping mall, St. Theresa (middle school) and Salisbury Composite High School.
Sherwood Park also boasts the affluent Sherwood Golf and Country Cub Estates community (www.landrex.com). Developed by Landrex, it offers some of the most luxurious homes this side of Edmonton. Homebuyers also get a terrific amount of choice for front drive, laned and duplex homes in Qualico Communities’ Summerwood (www.summerwood.qualicocommunitiesedmonton.com). SummerWood is conveniently located near grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and recreation facilities. For ease of access, the Yellowhead Highway and Highway 21 are just minutes away.
But why will people want to live in Sherwood Park? Well, for one thing, there is no shortage of amenities, including boutique shops, delicious diners and various points of interests that make it a great place to live. Here are a few, as we Explore Sherwood Park.

It’s been over five decades since Greenland was first established. In 1960, John Chichak started the company, specializing in lawn maintenance with a small garden centre in north Edmonton. In 1989, John’s children - Deborah, Tim, Wayne, and son-in-law Rod, decided to build a garden centre that was to be a year-round destination for gardening, home décor and so much more. On April 23, 1991, the new Greenland celebrated it’ grand opening.
Since then, Greenland has grown to be one of the largest garden centers in Alberta. There is a wide array of products here ranging from garden décor and supplies to home décor. And plants, of course – roses, perennials, trees and shrubs, tropicals, and herbs. They can all be found at their location where Clover Bar Road (Exit 405) meets Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16) just a few minutes east of Edmonton.
