Psssst! Ready for a secret? A new master-planned community is coming to the Township of Langley, and it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen here before.

Say hello to Hayer Town Centre, a dynamic collection of 338 condominium residences plus 35,000 sq.-ft. of shops and services that boasts an eye-catching, distinctly modern character and a location you’ll fall in love with.

“This is the first master-planned community in the Township of Langley designed specifically to resonate with buyers looking for a truly urban modern aesthetic,” explains Brandon Trent, Hayer Builders Group’s development manager. And as I’ll soon discover, Hayer Town Centre boasts plenty of other firsts, too.

Standout Architecture

Two words best describe the scale model: “Oh wow!” The architecture is an über-contemporary blend of textures, natural colours and shimmering glass. Whimsical pop-outs accentuated by metal latticework add a distinctly playful element, and at the main entry is the Township’s first living green-wall in a multi-family setting.

The four buildings — two L-shaped and two irregular squares — are creatively located on the site to provide generous amounts of open spaces, including an inviting public square with lots of outdoor seating and with grassy lawns. For me, I’m most intrigued by the triangular water feature, although it takes me a moment to realize its shape is a subtle nod to the Hayer Builders logo — cool.

Between the public and private spaces is a free-standing amenity building where owners will be able to enjoy a fireside lounge with entertainment kitchen, a media room, and a pool table — gathering with friends just got easier.

Taken as a whole, the ambience is of a community within a neighbourhood and a new urban destination, exactly what Brandon says was the inspiration behind Hayer Town Centre.

New View on Balconies

Still, it’s the solariums Brandon can’t wait to show me. We step into the one-bedroom display home and head for the patio door. I hear a sharp intake of breath and realize it’s me. The space is enormous — bigger than many condo living rooms I’ve seen — and has an inviting, beachy feel. I would definitely spend plenty of time out here.

“Now watch this,” Brandon says, opening one of the upper glass panels, then the one beside it, and the one beside that, until the entire upper section has been retracted against one wall. “And yes, the other side opens up just the same,” he says, noting my curious glance. It’s as if I’m sitting on an open front porch at the cabin sipping a chilled glass of pre-dinner Sauvignon Blanc with my sweetheart — definitely a unique twist on personal outdoor spaces.

And if you’re thinking that sounds awesome, the two-bedroom solarium is even larger, easily doubling the amount of this home’s entertaining space. “Each solarium has a dedicated spot ffor a barbecue or air conditioning unit, an electric outlet for television or lighting, and a ceiling light fixture with structural backing to accommodate a fan or chandelier,” Brandon says. Personally, I’m going with a chandelier with a bit of bling, for sure.

The Hayer Town Centre sales gallery and two display homes are now previewing by appointment only at 19920 – 76th Avenue in Langley. Prices start in the mid $500,000s. Visit hayerbuildersgroup.com/hayertowncentre or call 604.800.9662 for more information.
