Caffeinated and Curated
National Coffee Day is September 29, and there’s no better way to honour your daily brew than by visiting the local cafés that keep our communities caffeinated.
1. Square 1 Coffee
Square 1 started with a simple idea: great coffee tastes even better when shared. What began as a cozy café has grown into multiple locations, their own roasting brand, Anecdote, and a continued love for bringing people together and reimagining what local coffee can be.
2. Mokha Coffee House
From cardamom-spiced drinks to classic pours, Mokha is a must-visit for coffee lovers looking for something truly unique. With a location in Griesbach and a second on the way in Windermere, this locally owned café offers an inviting space to experience the rich history and flavour of authentic Yemeni brewing methods.
3. Iconoclast Coffee
Located in the historic Oliver Exchange Building, this café has become a go-to destination for thoughtfully crafted coffee. Beans are roasted daily in small batches and brewed with care right here in Edmonton. It’s the kind of spot that invites you to slow down, settle in, and savour your afternoon.
4. Ace Coffee Roasters
Ace has grown into a local favourite – not just for its coffee, but for the full experience. Explore their signature roasts, browse top-tier brewing gear, or dive deeper with one of their expertly led coffee classes. With four locations across Edmonton, it’s more than a café – it’s a hub for coffee lovers.

Hosted by Brookfield Residential, this all-ages event invites Edmontonians to lace up and take part in a morning of movement, connection, and charitable giving – all in support of Hope Mission. Taking place Saturday, September 27 at 9 AM at The Orchards Residents’ Association, the Harvest Run offers three route options: 10km, 5km, or a 1km fun run – perfect for everyone from seasoned runners to families with little ones. This inaugural event is an example of Brookfield Residential’s ongoing investment in building more than homes – they’re helping build stronger communities. Through thoughtful neighbourhood design and active involvement in local initiatives, Brookfield continues to show that creating great places to live starts with the people who live there.
