The new Ottawa Public Library (OPL)–Library and Archives Canada (LAC)

is an exciting joint facility in downtown Ottawa that includes many features that make it a model of green infrastructure in the national capital. The facility is scheduled to open in late 2024, with an official opening in 2025. It promises to be a cultural showplace for the country’s heritage, a meeting place for local residents and visitors alike, and thanks to federal funding announced last week, it will feature the latest net-zero carbon building practices.

Valecraft gives from the heart

Valecraft Homes, one of Ottawa’s most established homebuilders, recently donated $10,000 to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on behalf of all the families who purchased from them. Jean-Guy Rivard of Valecraft Homes presented the donation to Canada’s largest cardiovascular health centre in a virtual cheque hand-off earlier this month.
