NCC is opening up its parkways for you!

To give Ottawa residents more space for activities such as walking, running and cycling during the pandemic, The National Capital Commission (NCC) is scheduling openings for several parkways around Ottawa and in Gatineau Park to encourage activities to promote physical and mental well-being. Here’s the schedule.

NCC Weekend Bike Days Every weekend from May 1-October 11
The NCC is opening spaces to walk, run and cycle during the COVID-19 pandemic. Closed to Motorists

Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway Saturday & Sunday8am-4pm
Both Westbound lanes of the SJAM will be closed to vehicles from Vimy Place to Carling Avenue

Sir George-Etienne Cartier Parkway Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm
Both lanes will be closed to vehicles between the Aviation Parkway and St. Joseph Boulevard

Gatineau Park Parkways Monday-Sunday See Exceptions
Closed to motorists most of the time – with the exception of Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays after 1pm

Parkways for the people

Queen Elizabeth Driveway Daily 8am-8pm
Closed to motorists daily from Fifth Avenue to Somerset Street

Colonel By Drive Daily 24 hours
Closed to motorists daily from Daly Avenue to Canal Woods Terrace
