A new milestone

Award-winning Westbank’s sold-out Alberni tower has reached a new milestone. The top concrete floor plate of the 43-storey curved tower has been poured. Showcasing two distinct scoops that form deep wood balconies, Alberni is designed by prominent, world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The arching Coal Harbour tower is yet another Westbank collaboration with “star” architects. Kuma’s firm has worked on iconic buildings around the world, but this is his inaugural residential design in North America.

Reimagining the Olympic Oval lifestyle

Reported to be the biggest land purchase of 2021, Keltic Canada purchased 27 acres of primarily warehouse and offices close to Richmond’s Olympic Oval neighbourhood. Located north of Westminster Highway and east of No. 2 Road, the property is envisioned to be developed with a broad mix of upscale market condos, rental, seniors’ housing, plus lively new retail, eateries, and services — over two million square feet in total. Six acres are anticipated to be retained as parkland to complement this sophisticated, modern lifestyle for a well-heeled homeowner.
