Morrison Homes introduces new, stylishly affordable models this fall

Adaptability has been a hallmark in Morrison Homes’ successful, over-six-decade-long history, and it has never been more evident than in its new line-up of homes coming this fall.

Targeting Calgary’s ever-growing first-time homebuyers and downsizer markets, Morrison Homes is opening new laned showhomes and introducing brand new front garage duplex homes and villa models.

Morrison Homes Marketing Manager, Max Conrad, says the multi-awarded builder is staying ahead of the curve, as they introduce their new front garage duplex homes that offer style and practicality in equal measure.

“Homebuyers are trending towards our laned and duplex offerings as affordability is still key,” Conrad tells Calgary New Home + Condo Guide. “This is why we’ve introduced the Front Garage Duplex for buyers who need a bit more space but aren’t quite ready for a traditional front garage home.”

Late August saw the introduction of Morrison Homes’ new Villa and Front Garage Duplex Homes in Sirocco at Pine Creek in the southwest, where they have also only recently opened new laned showhomes.

Continuing the fall surge, on September 7, Morrison Homes opened their new laned show homes in the northwest community of Glacier Ridge, and in Belmont in the southwest on September 21.

Duplex and villa appeal

Conrad points out that they are the only builder offering duplex homes with double front-attached garages in Sirocco, and it’s an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for their first new home. “They offer the convenience of an attached garage home at an affordable price.”

The Villas, meanwhile, are the downsizers’ dream, he says. “They offer large, expansive main levels, attached two-car garage and an optional lower-level development.” They have been very well received since pre-sales launched on August 24. “They are currently being sold at our Front Garage sales centre in Sirocco,” he adds.

One of the new front-attached-garage duplex showhomes is The Franklin, a 1,774-square-foot, three-bed, two-and-a-half bath model in Sirocco. It’s a great option for a first-time homebuyer with a young family, or even a homebuyer looking to upgrade from a traditional duplex or laned home. The open to below of the Franklin also adds in a sense of space that is typically only found in a traditional front garage home.

The beauty of single-level living in a villa setting is the vibe of The Monterra, one of the new Morrison Homes’ villas being offered in Sirocco at Pine Creek. With 1,681 square-feet of living space, The Monterra is perfect for the recent retiree. Every convenience is located on the main level, but and it still offers a developable lower level or optional main level suite if more living space is required. It’s location in the growing community of Sirocco at Pine Creek puts owners in close proximity to commercial and entertainment amenities, including a nearby golf course.

New front-drive options too

This past spring, Morrison also opened two front-drive garage showhomes in the southeast community of Legacy. The Cliffton II and the Wexford are tried and true floorplans at Morrison Homes, but the new showhomes brings an even sharper stylish edge to their already considerable charm.

“This is the first time we will be offering front-drive garage homes on zero lot lines in Legacy,” says Area Sales Manager, Ryan Heggedal. “Both have the requisite functionality and practicality every family needs, but there’s a stylish panache, as well, that is quite pleasing.”

The 2,317-square-foot Cliffton II and the 1,919-square-foot Wexford both come with open-to-below features that lend a sense of drama to the home. “These are some of the most popular homes we have in our lineup, but the design of these new showhomes have been revitalized and updated,” he adds.

Having them available on zero lot lines in an established, dynamic community like Legacy helps maintain their affordability, he adds. Morrison Homes will also have zero lot lines along the ridge that offer some of the best views of the surrounding natural reserve.

A standard of success

No matter the choice, the new Morrison Homes’ offerings come standard with comfort, careful craftsmanship, and affordability. And they have the awards to prove it – 16 Builder of the Year awards no less – the most among all Calgary homebuilders.

These qualities are only some of Morrison Homes’ edge, and Conrad feels there is no better time to buy a new home than now.

“Interest rates are predicted to decrease over the next 6-12 months. This means purchasing now at today’s prices means you can lock in the cost of your home but capitalize on a lower interest rate when you take possession,” he says.

Despite strong competition, he adds that Morrison Homes has the advantage. “There continues to be an extraordinarily low amount of home lots and resale homes on the market especially for more affordable homes. As interest rates decrease, buying power will increase in turn. Buyers who have been waiting on the sidelines will be ready to take action, and we have the complete line of homes needed to address all budget and lifestyle needs.”

Morrison Homes offerings span the entire range of single-family homes from duplex and laned homes for first-time buyers, front-drive garage for growing families, and even estate homes for those looking for the finer things in life. Find out more at morrisonhomes.ca.
