Optimistic outlook for 2026 (part 2)
January 5, 2026
Calgary remains to be the engine for new home growth in the country, and the outlook for 2026 remains optimistic.
“Alberta continues to lead Canada in population and economic growth, with Calgary at the forefront thanks to its competitive advantages: a diverse and growing workforce, robust infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment,” says BILD Calgary Region CEO Brian Hahn.
He believes growth is still in the forecast with Calgary’s varied new home owning opportunities. “For homebuyers next year, it’s important to explore options early and act with confidence. Calgarians are looking for homes that balance lifestyle, location and affordability.”
He adds that BILD Calgary Region members are delivering more options than ever – townhomes, condos, and single-family homes, not to mention more new communities – so buyers have real choice while keeping affordability front and center.
There are so many new home opportunities coming up that we had to split this feature into two parts, the first ran in the December 2025 issue. Here’s part two.
Excel Homes
Excel Homes is welcoming the New Year in a big way, as the renowned builder introduces their first multi-family development in Mahogany, and brings in yet even more home opportunities with more new single-family models, new pricing and new enhanced standard specifications guaranteed to impress.
Excel Homes’ The Monocle street-towns bring a refined and affordable lifestyle opportunity in most popular lake community in the southeast. It will have two showhomes open this spring, says Excel Homes Marketing Manager, Kristina Plank.
“2025 was a big year for us, as we celebrate our 15,000th homeowner, and 2026 is looking even more promising as we begin sales for Monocle,” she adds.
Excel is also expanding to more new communities. This fall they will open at least two showhomes in the new southeast community of Hazel; and another two, at least, in Monarch in the southwest. The latter is the latest community development from Apex, and the former is from Genesis Land.
Excel also marked its 15,000th homeowner last year, and they are well on their way to the next milestone with these new releases in 2026. Go to excelhomes.ca for more updates.
Partners
Partners Development Groupis continuing its growth with new projects that reflect evolving buyer needs and community trends in 2026. Here’s some of what buyers can expect from them in the coming year.
“We’re introducing a new street town product in the established southwest community of Sirocco, with a targeted July 2026 opening,” says Director of Marketing, Ryan Hall.
Partners is also the developer of Heritage Crossing, a country residential property featuring 145 lots in DeWinton, just outside Calgary’s southern city limits.
“Expect single-family homes by Crystal Creek Homes, Genesis Builders, and NuVista Homes, plus villa bungalow duplexes and street town bungalows by Partners Homes,” he adds. Launch is in Fall 2026.
In northeast Calgary, Partners will continue to develop their communities of Keystone Creek (which just opened last fall), and Homestead, which also saw grand opening celebrations for the new showhomes in its latest phase.
Meanwhile, their Upper Greenwich community in the northwest continues to grow, as Crystal Creek Homes is expected to join its Urban Estate builder group, and New West Luxury Homes unveils a new estate showhome. Their Vintage by Partners multi-family project here was also introduced in June offering attractive pre-sales pricing on the first building.
In Okotoks, Partners will be completing the final two buildings for Lawrie Park in Wedderburn, the town’s first condo development in a long while. “We will also be in Ridgemont, a Lamont Land community, with duplex homes in 2026,” Hall adds. Go to partnershomes.ca for the latest.
Qualico Communities
Year 2026 will be another busy and exciting year for Qualico Communities, says Rishika Dave, Communications Specialist at Qualico Communities Calgary. “We’re gearing up for grand show home openings in Ambleridge (Northwest Calgary) and Vantage Rise (Airdrie) and the release of their initial phases.”
She adds that several communities will see new phase launches, including Qualico’s newer communities, Bridgeport in Chestermere and Southbow Landing in Cochrane. “Our more established communities of Vermilion Hill and Dawson’s Landing will enter their final phases,” Dave says.
“We’re also looking forward to welcoming more communities to our portfolio and are working on something special in Vermilion Hill.”
The first retailers in Dawson’s Landing’s 10-acre commercial space will be opening, as will the 24-acre Eco Park. Amenities in all our communities will continue to progress as planned.
“Harmony, our 8-time BILD Calgary Community of the Year winner, will launch Phase 28 in Harmony Harbour, featuring diverse home types, and Phase 15’s launch will see more laned and front garage semi-estate homes. We expect to have more news throughout the year on new multi-family sites and coming amenities.” Go to qualicocommunitiescalgary.com for the latest.

2026 is looking to be another banner year for Trico Homes, as it continues to introduce new products and designs for its line of front-garage, laned, bungalows and townhomes. Focus will be on enhancing overall customer experience and creating lasting value for our customers, says Trico Homes Director of Marketing, Glenda Schwartz.
“Trico will be releasing new and improved 2026 specifications based on feedback from our customers,” she adds. “We are adapting to meet the changing needs of our customers with new product and designs and building in new communities.”
Trico will be expanding to a host of new communities, notably – Ambleridge, Damkar, Rose Ranch, Vantage Rise, Spring Valley and Valarosa in Didsbury.
Trico will also be releasing its new Summit Condos at Wentworth in the southwest in spring 2026. They are also opening their latest STARS Lottery grand prize home in January in the southeast community of Heartwood.
