Rising above it all

If there was one thing to be learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s the importance of living in a home you love and in a community that fits your needs. After all, sheltering in place is all that much easier if it’s in a safe and cherished environment.

The Rise at West Grove Estates may not have been designed specifically for the pandemic-induced lockdown, but it couldn’t have worked better if it had. The interconnectivity of the community coupled with the upscale and family-friendly design of the homes from its builders – Brookfield Residential and Cedarglen Homes – have certainly made it an ideal place to live not just in these days but all the time.

Everything from the family-oriented design of homes, the over seven acres of green space and 763 linear metres of pathways in the community, its proximity to groceries and commercial centres – The Rise at West Grove Estates certainly made it easy for residents to ride out the lockdown in comparative comfort and safety.

Maintaining social distance remains paramount these days but having created an environment that strengthens the bonds of community through shared experiences among neighbours has made The Rise a little different from any other, says Aleem Dhanani, the managing director of the community’s developer, Bri-mor Developments.

“Homeowners at the Rise have highlighted their peace of mind living in a safe community with ample space for walks throughout the numerous greenspaces, even while adhering to mandatory social distance provisions. Purchasers are still confident that the price point and the value proposition of a home at the Rise, is a sound investment decision as we have seen this with homes continuing to be purchased, even amidst of the current pandemic.”

The Rise is at peak value right now, with less than 10 per cent of lots left.

“During this pandemic and as home owners look to the future, consumers are simply looking for ‘real value’ that will stand the test of time – that means great quality, lifestyle, curb appeal, amenities, and greenspaces.Even in the midst of economic uncertainty, you can get a truly successful project like The Rise when you deliver real value to purchasers. Not only are we seeing young professionals, we are also seeing many active families as well as downsizers who are seeking to join a vibrant and tightknit community.”

He further noted that The Rise has been impacted less than other communities due to the economic challenges of the past few years given the most attractive price point offered and without having to trade off the quality of home and choosing to enjoy the highly desirable West Calgary living. “The market agreed, the first phase of 111 lots at The Rise was so successful that we brought on an additional 89 lots ahead of schedule and now we are almost sold out.”

At The Rise, home designs have been created to reflect “the family” unit, Dhanani explains. “They create a fully functional lifestyle and can cater to children, parents, grandparents, extended family and friends. A family home must satisfy all that is important to a family – from the home design to the community within which it is built. The Rise, together with our builders, can make all residents’ ideal home and community a reality.”

The 200 homes that will comprise The Rise will all be double front-attached garage semi-estate homes starting from 2,000 square-feet. They are on lots ranging in size from 34 - to 38-feet wide and start from the mid $700s. “There isn’t anywhere else on the Westside of Calgary where you can buy a home of comparable size and value at this price,” Dhanani says.

Brookfield Residential and Cedarglen Homes are the exclusive builders for this community. Dhanani says they were chosen due to their extraordinary attention to detail and each has specifically designed and constructed homes which reflect the family unit, while maintaining the estate like feel and level of detail prescribed by the developer. “Ultimately, we are partners and believe that we all share a strong commitment building a best in class community and putting our homeowners first.”

The Rise offers quick possession homes available for purchase so that families can move in right away and begin to enjoy comfortable living space, the community and onsite amenities without any delay.

Brookfield’s Sophie Gowsell reiterates that safety of its staff and visitors is their primary concern, but their show homes in The Rise remain open and available for in-person appointments and walk-ins on weekends. “We also have myTime self-guided tours – it’s an innovative new technology that allows guests to tour finished homes on their own with a personal access code.”

She adds that community is at the core of everything they do. “And that is why we have made a commitment to remain open for business for both our homeowners and our homebuyers with health and safety top-of-mind”

Cedarglen Homes will be resuming regular show home hours starting the weekend of May 17. “We have implemented all of the necessary safety protocols to ensure that our staff and potential homebuyers will be protected,” says Cedarglen’s Stephanie Miller.

With the support and expertise of The Rise’s premier builders, homeowners can express their own taste and personality while designing their home in the exterior themes of Craftsman, French Country, Arts and Crafts, Tudor and Prairie.

The Rise offers families a great lifestyle – healthy and active. The community is in an established part of town only 15-20 minutes from Downtown that has ample shopping and dining options right next door and is only a quick trip to the mountains. With the seven acres of parks and greenspace, the Rise is ideal for playing, exploring or simply wandering.
