Streetside climbs to the top

StreetSide Developments is Number One for 2021. Qualico Communities’ award-winning, multi-family development arm topped the charts as Calgary’s best-selling townhome builder last year.
According to the Zonda Urban Sales by Developer Report (Q4-2021), StreetSide sold 265 homes in 2021, including 206 townhomes. This equates to a total market share of 11 percent in townhomes for StreetSide, the report says.
“We are very proud and excited about this achievement!” says StreetSide Developments Vice-President, Richard Daley. This is the first time StreetSide has taken the top spot and Daley says it’s testament to the strong teamwork.
“I want to thank our team who worked extremely hard last year in order for StreetSide to be ranked number one. I would also like to thank Calgary and our new homeowners for trusting StreetSide and giving us the privilege of constructing their dream home.”
StreetSide Marketing and Digital Sales Manager, Max Conrad, tells Calgary New Home + Condo Guide their varied line of townhome plans was key in their success, giving many homebuyers plenty of opportunities to find one that fits their budget and their dreams.
“We have a wide variety of projects that appeal to many targets from first-time homebuyers looking to get out of the rental market to empty nesters looking for a maintenance free home to downsize to,” he says.
“In addition, our ability to adapt to the buyer’s changing needs quickly has served us well in this hectic market. Buyers have also been receptive to our StreetSide Certified program, launched in the spring of 2021, which gives our homeowners’ peace of mind and provides services to meet homebuyers’ needs.”
Topping their best-seller list is their Evanston Park townhomes in the northwest, as the entire 61-unit development sold out last November. Belwood Park in the southwest has also performed well in sales. “These three-storey townhomes have similar layouts to Evanston Park and buyers are seeing the value in our open concept designs and attached garages,” Conrad says.
Outside of Calgary, StreetSide’s Executive Townhome collection, Harmony Park, that launched sales last summer is also a hit. “Harmony Park offers an enticing price-point to live in the award-winning community of Harmony in Rocky View County for those who want to live in one of Calgary’s most popular lake communities,” Conrad adds.
But StreetSide is not sitting on their laurels, as 2022 is opening even more opportunities for new homeowners to get into a StreetSide home.
“This year is very exciting for us as we have showhome openings coming up this fall in two exciting projects. Red Embers Point will launch three showhomes in the community of Redstone in the northeast,” Conrad says. Red Embers Point consists of 3- to 4-bedroom townhomes from the $300,000s with a variety of floorplan options.
“In addition, we will also open a new showhome in Creekstone Towns located in the scenic community of Hudson in Creekstone in the southwest. Creekstone Towns offers farmhouse inspired, fee-simple townhomes with 2– to 4-bedroom options, double car detached garages and backyards.”
“Our final phase in Evanston Park will feature 3 new floorplans and is slated to open for pre-sales this year. This phase will complete the circle of four phases that wrap around a central municipal park in Evanston. From the popular “Salt Box” exteriors to the special Alberta landscaping themes characteristic of each phase, buyers are eagerly awaiting the launch, says Conrad.
