It’s spring, the season of rebirth, and the air is filled with anticipation. And for many new homebuyers, it’s the anticipation of touring new showhomes. Edmonton does not disappoint as homebuilders launch their latest and greatest with an eye on innovation and catching the visitor’s eye. In many of them, “wow!” comes standard.
Showhomes have always been the best tool for homebuilders to attract buyers. It allows them to not only show off their skill and expertise in homebuilding but gives buyers an aspirational glimpse of the lifestyle that is possible for them.

All the new communities in Edmonton and region have exciting showhome parades to go through, a good tip is to go through the winners of the CHBA Edmonton Region that we have in this issue to pick out a list of showhomes to visit. In an effort to further “guide” the readers, Edmonton New Home + Condo Guide picks a few of the newest in town.

Anthem

Renowned real estate developer, Anthem, has a new homebuilding division of, and it makes a splashy debut in Edmonton’s new home scene. The builder, also called Anthem, is introducing several new showhomes in and around Edmonton this year.

“Anthem opened our first showhome in Edmonton in Glenridding Ravine in March. We will be opening eight more this year. Two in McConachie in May and remaining by the end of 2023 in Kinglet, Trumpeter and Dansereau Meadows in Beaumont,” says Megan Starke, Anthem’s Senior Manager, Marketing.

The 2,257-square-foot front-drive garage home has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, an upper floor bonus room and a main floor den.

“We are proud of the homes we have designed as a team and every thoughtful detail we have planned. Homeowners can expect to see extra storage, oversized windows, soft close drawers and cabinets as standard and much more.”

Following intensive research, Anthem has come out with home designs that are sure to resound with buyers. This has surely enriched the experience in their front-drive garage showhome in Glenridding Ravine.

“The showhome in Glenridding Ravine is incredibly well built. We have received comments from guests on the value of the construction quality. “We also took time to ensure this showhome was designed for the practical real-life use with our buyers top of mind. We want our showhomes to look clean and elevated like you see on Pinterest but with a hint of real life added throughout.”

She adds that Anthem “prides ourselves in providing a top-quality home and experience and we are excited to bring our home standard to Alberta now. We are very excited to have this showhome open in the award-winning community of Glenridding Ravine.” Please register to learn more at anthemproperties.com.

Coventry Homes

Coventry Homes’ showhomes are synonymous to “wow!” but they also inform visitors on the lifestyle that fits.
“For our showhomes, we love to show the same model in different communities with different options to show clients how they can make different models work for their lifestyle,” says Tara Van Horn, Director, Marketing & Design. “While the showhomes may be the same model, they are completely different in interior design, layout and function.”

Coventry has opened two new showhomes since the start of 2023, with two more scheduled to open in Summer and Fall. “In January we opened one of our most popular models, the Dione, in the new St. Albert community of Nouveau,” Van Horn says.

The 2,105-square-foot front-drive garage home features a Nordic design influence, with a bright and simple colour palette with accents of black and warm, light natural wood.

Also new is the Lyra in the southwest community of Rivers Edge that opened in February. The showhome features earthy green accents with warm wood in the hardwood flooring, beams and cabinetry.

The Lyra showhome is 2,271 square-feet with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. It features a central great room and rear kitchen with separate dining nook off the main floor living space.

The first thing visitors will notice in the Lyra is the abundance of natural light. The large windows in the foyer, stairwell, dining room and kitchen and open floor plan create a welcoming atmosphere that feels immediately comfortable and inviting, she says. “The light colour palette used throughout the home helps to accentuate the natural light, creating a sense of calm and tranquility.”

Her advice to visitors looking to buy a home while touring a showhome is to do a walk-through twice.
“When you walk through a showhome do an initial walk-through to take in all of the beautiful finishes and design.

Then walk through again thinking about how the floorplan would work for your lifestyle – and note what you would change!” she says.

“The great thing about our floorplans, is that they are just starting points- everything can be changed to better fit your lifestyle. From adding rooms to moving walls, Coventry Homes is known for our industry-leading approach to flexibility – you can build your home, your way.”

Coventry Homes will be opening two more showhomes in the new northeast communities of Marquis and Marquis West in early Summer and Fall ’23.

Morrison Homes

Morrison Homes is becoming a bigger presence in Edmonton’s showhome game and their new front-drive and townhome models in Tonewood in Spruce Grove bring a panache that an ever-widening range of buyers are looking for.

“Close to schools, shops and across from Jubilee Park, Tonewood is a perfect Spruce Grove community of multi-family and single-family homes and a lifestyle that’s in tune with the needs of your family,” says Dara Wyton, Morrison Homes’ Selection Studio Manager in Edmonton.

Morrison Homes’ front-drive garage and townhome showhomes here exemplify the stylishly suburban verve that the community strives for.

The 2,100-square-foot Webster II front-drive home has a very family-friendly vibe with an open concept main floor and three bedrooms plus a bonus room upstairs.

“This Webster model has great flexibility for many model options, to help customize exactly what our clients are looking for. It is also our most popular model so we really thought it would benefit this community,” Wyton says.
“Since we have walk-out lots backing onto the pond we wanted a home that would showcase a family atmosphere at its best. Then we look at the elevation that would work perfectly with the exterior requirements. This Westcoast feel in tonewood works really well with many of our models.”

Morrison Homes is debuting its townhome models in Edmonton in Tonewood, and they have three showhomes to tour that display the full range of design variations and feature options.

“We are new to townhomes, and we wanted to show all our models we offer so we decided to showcase all three potential options!” Wyton adds.

The townhomes range in size from 1,280 to 1,426 square-feet and come with upgraded standards, including a detached double car garage.

“The wow feature in these townhomes is the space itself. Each model has a very open feeling with a neutral color palette that really will work with anyone’s design style and taste. Biggest wow factor for the townhomes by far is that not only do you get this wonderful interior space, you receive a fully landscaped yard, a wood deck and completed detached garage without Condo Fees. These are 100 percent move in ready!”
