The residential construction industry gathered on April 18 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver for the 2026 HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence gala, presented by FortisBC. The sold-out event brought together builders, designers and industry leaders to recognize excellence in homebuilding across Metro Vancouver. The evening welcomed special guest, the Honourable Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs.

Among the top performers, Miracon Development and Zenterra Developments each earned four awards. Zenterra Developments was also named Grand HAVAN Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year. Foxridge Homes, a Qualico company, received three awards, including two Grand HAVAN honours: Best Residential Community: Single-Family and Grand HAVAN Single-Family Home Builder of the Year.

Miracon’s Encore project was recognized across multiple categories, winning Best Single-Family Detached Home (Production): 2,900 sq. ft. and over, along with Best New Kitchen: Single-Family Production Home, Best Primary Suite: Single-Family or Multi-Family Production Home, and Best Interior Design Display Showhome: Single-Family Production Home.

Zenterra Developments’ award-winning projects included Latimer Walk, which received Best Townhouse/Rowhome Unit: Less Than 1,500 sq. ft.; The Commons, awarded Best Multi-Family Condominium Unit; and Eden, recognized for Best Marketing Campaign.

Foxridge Homes, a Qualico company, was awarded Grand HAVAN Single-Family Home Builder of the Year, with additional recognition for Brighton North, which won Best Single-Family Detached Home (Production): Less Than 2,900 sq. ft. in collaboration with First Impressions Designs Inc., and Brookswood Estates, which received the Grand HAVAN award for Best Residential Community: Single-Family.

HAVAN CEO Wendy McNeil noted that the range of winners reflects the depth of talent in the industry and the competitiveness of the market. She added that the awards program continues to evolve to reflect changes in housing delivery, including small-scale multi-unit housing, multiplex developments and modular solutions, while helping homeowners identify professionals delivering consistent, high-quality results.

Additional winners highlighted key areas of innovation and performance including Solterra Development’s Monaco for Grand HAVAN – Best Residential Community: Multi-Family. NorthStar Development received Best Modular/Prefab Housing Solutions for Estrella, Cascadia Green Development LTD was recognized with the FortisBC Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency: New or Renovated for the INNOVA project, and Renewal Development earned Best Environmental Initiative for the shíshálh Nation 10 Home Rescue Project.

Now in its 17th year, the HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence is a peer-reviewed program, with winners selected by a panel of award-winning builders, renovators and designers from across Canada. The program reflects the region’s housing market and serves as a reference for homeowners exploring new construction, renovation and design projects across Metro Vancouver.
