There is a new energy coursing through Edmonton’s southeast. New prospects, new opportunities, new growth and new homebuyers who see plenty of options to find an affordable, comfortable lifestyle in the new communities coming up in this area.

Southeast Edmonton is a sprawling mix of residential, industrial and rural areas, with plenty of recreational spaces in between, including Mill Creek Ravine, where one can get lost in its natural beauty right in the city.

The southeast is generally the area south of Whitemud Drive and east of Highway 2, but much of the new growth can be found straddling Anthony Henday Drive. The southeast does include the older, more mature areas including Mill Woods, but most of the new communities are further along the southern edges of the city.

Communities that promote a healthy life-work balance is the norm in these new areas, with commercial, retail and recreational spots found in abundance and residents don’t have to go far to find what they want and need.

Communities of worth

Hills at Charlesworth by Cantiro has pushed for innovation not only in the development of shared spaces in the community but in the designs of the homes they live in.

The Hills of Charlesworth won for its Sustainability Plaza that was designed as an eco-friendly recreation hub that serves as a shared environment for residents who get to enjoy its solar-powered playground, an expansive community garden, and even free solar-powered Wi-Fi.

Cantiro also just unveiled their new Park View Homes here.”Our Park View homes are a brand-new home style. They’re not the typical single-family home in a sense that it can’t be easily categorized as either front-attached, nor rear laned home,” says Cantiro’s Senior Marketing Manager, Kim Tieu.
