Canada is a country with a lot of unusually named towns and cities. From sea to shining sea, here are the quirkiest names across Canada.
Yukon
The Yukon is home to Scroggie Creek, Old Crow, Sixty Mile, and Coffee Creek.
Northwest Territories
Northwest Territories contains Reindeer Station, Little Chicago, Snowdrift and Rat River.
Nunavut
Nunavut contains Repulse Bay and Roes Welcome Sound.
British Columbia
In British Columbia you'll find Surprise, Toad River, Pink Mountain, Lone Butte and Nanaimo (Who doesn’t love Nanaimo Bars?).
Alberta
In Alberta you can visit Whiskey Gap, Paddle Prairie, Keg River, Bodo Monitor and Vulcan (Live long and prosper, eh?).
Saskatchewan
Check out Saskatchewan's Uranium City, Moose Jaw, Pelican Narrows, Big Beaver, Cut Knife and Elbow.
Manitoba
Manitoba charms with place names such as Flin Flon, Moosehorn, Gimli, Red Sucker Lake, Jackhead, Little Bullhead and Long Body Creek.
Ontario

This is just a sampling of interesting place names across Canada. One can’t help but wonder about the origins of these place names, and, for the record, Crapaud looks like a pretty nice place.
