Calgary is a big city seeing incredible growth, both population-wise and in surface area with the addition of several new communities. Despite their “brim of the city” location, many of these new communities have a lot to offer including family-oriented masterplans, convenient access to amenities, and so much more!

If you’re a potential home buyer looking for a new place to call home, here are three exciting new communities in Calgary that may be of interest to you!

#1 - Alpine Park

Quadrant: Southwest
Developer: Dream Unlimited
Description: “Inspired by the natural and architectural history of Calgary with mountain, urban, and prairie influences converging, Alpine Park’s new urbanist design was built around a dynamic mix of housing choices that put people first, strengthening social fabric and encouraging neighbourliness.”
Alpine Park is found on the southwest brim of Calgary near where Fish Creek Provincial Park meets the Stoney Trail ring road. Featuring townhouses, laned homes single-family properties, prices currently range from the $450s to $850s with offerings for a full range of buyers. Expect Alpine Park to be a huge hit amongst suburban buyers who love the outdoors!

#2 – Belvedere

Quadrant: Southeast
Developer: Tristar Communities
Description: “In a premium location adjacent to the East Hill Shopping Centre and only 15 minutes from downtown, Belvedere is destined to become one of Calgary’s most sought-after communities. Imagine a neighbourhood where ease of access to employment, entertainment, green space, retail, dining and recreation is right outside your front door.”
Found on the brim of the southeast, Belvedere shows lots of promise as a community where you’ll find major shopping outlets mixed in with residential homes. East Hills Shopping Centre, International Avenue, Sunridge Mall, Chestermere Lake and Elliston Park are just a few amenities you’ll find close to home when living in Belvedere. Currently available properties for sale begin in the low to mid $400s, a price range that’s attainable for many buyers on today’s market.

#3 – Glacier Ridge

Quadrant: Northwest
Developer: Anthem Properties
Description: “Glacier Ridge expresses a vision that captures the experience of life on the boundary. It seamlessly blends Calgary’s urban frontier, and Alberta’s vast ancient glacial landscapes and rugged wilderness. The character of this nostalgic community is distinguished by an interplay between richly landscaped public spaces and architecture inspired by the region’s sweeping vistas and pioneering history.”
Glacier Ridge is an up-and-coming community on the northwest brim of the city, found just north of Sage Hill and Nolan Hill. Featuring spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains, the neighbourhood features duplexes, laned homes and detached properties, with prices starting in
the $500s. Cedarglen, Jayman, Morrison, Shane and Trico are its exclusive builders, all well-known companies in southern Alberta’s residential business.

Good Luck with Your Home Search!

Calgary is also home to several other outstanding new community developments including Midfield Heights, Homestead, Rockland Park, Ambleton and the West District to name a few.
