When the weather heats up, so does the action in Moncton. For residents who are fed up with winter and just want to have some fun, here are the top Moncton festivals to check out.
Radical Speed Sport
Held in April at the Moncton Coliseum, this event features music, vendors, celebrity guests, and awesome high performance cars of all kinds.
The Frye Festival
Occurring during the last week of April, this literary event celebrating Moncton-raised author Northrop Frye features guest authors, workshops, readings and seminars throughout the city.
Atlantic Beer Festival
This increasingly popular party is held at the Moncton Coliseum during the last week of May, and it features beer. Lots and lots of beer.
The Atlantic Nationals
In July, this classic car show is based out of Centennial Park but also features a free street party downtown. With over 2,000 cars, celebrity guests, music, and vendors, it takes the full weekend just to see everything.
Atlanticade
The Atlanticade motorcycle festival takes place in July in downtown Moncton with a street party, live music, vendors, events, beer gardens, food, and of course, lots of motorcycles on display.
Mosaiq Multicultural Festival Multiculturel
Featuring events downtown and all over the city, this lively festival takes place in July and features vendors, exhibits of all kinds, entertainment, workshops, art and live performances.
Atlantic Seafood Festival
Kicking off with a street party, this August festival is hosted by several downtown venues and offers wine and food tastings, competitions and a variety of entertainment.
Festival International du Cinema Francophone en Acadie
This popular international film festival takes place in various areas of Moncton during the last week of September.
Also not to be missed are two festivals in the surrounding area: Dieppe Kite International Festival in August (kite making, kite flying, competitions, entertainment and candy showers), and the Shediac Lobster Festival in July (rides, entertainment, vendors, lobster eating contests and the world’s largest lobster roll).
