Try these three Taiwanese restaurants in Calgary
February 4, 2020
Taiwanese and Chinese cuisine may have a lot of crossover in terms of ingredients used and types of dishes cooked, but they definitely have their own unique natures as well, like we’ve gotten to experience at these excellent Taiwanese restaurants in Calgary. If you’re looking for a great place to eat some authentic Taiwanese-style cuisine, be sure to check out any of these three restaurants sometime soon.
#1 – Just BBQ
Address – 120 – 1211 Edmonton Trail NE, Calgary, AB
Phone – 403-769-9188
Just BBQ does a great job of providing its customers with an authentic Taiwanese dining experience. From the restaurant’s chic ambiance to its meat and seafood-focused menu, you truly do get the full foodie experience here.
We absolutely love the chicken and beef skewers (pictured above mid-left) with quite a lot of meat on them compared to other barbecue restaurants. But perhaps our favourite is the scallops wrapped with bacon – there’s really nothing more incredible than these juicy concoctions of foodie skewer love, which are a must try.
#2 – Lambo Noodle Bar
Address – 222 16 Ave NE, Calgary, AB
Phone – 403-454-3880
While Just BBQ has the bomb seafood dishes and meat-loaded skewers, Lambo Noodle Bar is the place to go for a delicious bowl of authentic Taiwanese noodle soup. The restaurant also serves up a variety of side dishes such as dumplings, braised cabbage and Taiwanese sausages, the last of which you must try if you really want to make it an authentic experience.
We’ve tried a handful of their noodle bowls and must say that all are good. But we’d highly recommend the tomato and beef noodle soup with its savoury broth and brisket that seems to melt in your mouth.
#3 – 3Q Taiwanese Bento
Address – 4323 Macleod Trail, Calgary, AB
Phone – (403) 287-8228
3Q Bistro has developed a reputation as being one of the best places to not only to get bubble tea, but also for café-style Taiwanese cuisine. Choose from a variety of well-priced rice / noodle bowls or indulge in some Taiwanese snack-style staples like condensed milk buns and curry fishballs with your favourite flavour of bubble tea.
For spicy food lovers, we highly recommend the spicy beef noodle soup complete with diced green onions and carrots, cabbage and a hard-boiled egg to boot.
Try them all if you can – we think you’ll like them!
