The Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) recently held its annual conference and Awards of Distinction at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood. The OHBA annual awards program recognizes the creativity, innovation and excellence of builders, renovators, developers and service professionals within Ontario’s residential construction industry at large. There are multiple categories OHBA members can be recognized for, including architectural design, marketing and advertising, renovation, sales presentation, prestige awards and more.

The award winners came from various areas in Ontario, including Innisfil, Blue Mountain, Guelph, Fort Erie, Barrie, Ottawa, St. Catharines and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. We were extremely pleased and proud to witness two of the West End Home Builders’ Association’s (WEHBA) builder members receiving some of the most coveted awards of the night. Congratulations to Branthaven Homes for receiving the Project of The Year – Lowrise Award, for its project West & Post, and to National Homes for receiving the Project of the Year – High- or Midrise Award, for Northshore. Branthaven Homes also received the Lowrise Sales Brochure Award for West & Post.

Branthaven Homes

The Project of the Year awards are two of the most prestigious awards in the OHBA Awards program, and a great indication of the talent and quality of work the WEHBA builder members offer to consumers and to our industry. Branthaven Homes is a family-owned company, celebrating 50 years of homebuilding excellence. It is committed to providing high-quality, design-forward homes and have gained a reputation of an award-winning trusted home builder across southern Ontario. The company’s award-winning project – West & Post – is a new traditional, custom-inspired townhome community, located at Westoak Trails and Postmaster Drive.

National Homes

National Homes is part of a group of companies that traces its origins back to the establishment of Pantalone Realty in 1974. The company has grown into one of GTHA’s most successful and respected homebuilders, with more than 15,000 homes built. The company’s winning project – Northshore – a two boutique midrise condominium overlooking the Burlington Golf & Country Club, is built to the highest level of construction, and embraces the natural beauty of its surroundings with plenty of balconies and terraces.

This major, province-wide industry recognition is a benefit and an opportunity that comes with the WEHBA membership. Once a business becomes a member of a local home builders association (HBA), it automatically becomes a member of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association. This three-tiered membership opens the doors to bigger and better recognition (national and provincial awards programs), extensive networking opportunities, business growth on both provincial and national levels, as well as substantial professional development and educational resources. Membership matters and success stories are a great indicator of the importance of being a part of a professional community that supports and celebrates its members and their work.

The WEHBA membership offers businesses the opportunity to join an exclusive network of leading industry professionals who are committed to building successful partnerships, exchanging information and experiences, and supporting each other in business. Our members have access to a wide variety of educational material and can develop their skills, stay informed and manage their businesses successfully and profitably. The West End Homebuilders’ Association is currently running a membership deal, offering new members the rest of 2023 for free. Any business in the residential construction industry at large, interested in learning more about the WEHBA should contact info@westendhba.ca or 289.208.1442.
