Brigil supports community gardening project by donating space

The Mooney’s Bay Community Garden was a project spearheaded by the Riverview Park Community Association, supported by River Ward Councillor Riley Brockington. It is temporarily located at the vacant grocery store at the Riverside Mall – a location generously donated by Brigil as they confirm plans to redevelop the land. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place July 13. Local families are excited to tend to their own garden plots, with a portion of their harvests designated for donation.

New models at Claridge Homes

Claridge Homes played a bit of hide-and-seek with me! Both of their popular communities in Findlay Creek, Sundance and Lilythorne have new models. Visit Clarissa and Hussain at Sundance, located at 431 Fernside Street, or the Lockport model in Lilythorne at 3275 Findlay Creek Drive.

Say hello to eQ Homes

I got to spend some time with the various members of the eQ Homes staff. James Paterson, known as the unofficial Mayor of eQuinelle, is actually the Customer Experience Director and is able to give you all the details about the award-winning community of eQuinelle located in Kemptville, as well as the award-winning golf course.

I also stopped by eQ Homes’ Findlay Creek neighbourhood of Pathways to see Jennifer. She let me know that Phase Two will be released soon. A spectacular new collection of Single Detached Homes and Townhomes in an established South Ottawa neighbourhood, just 30 minutes from downtown. For more information on you can visit the eQ Homes website or see the contact info in the Builder’s Index at the back of the book.

New release of towns being offered for the first time in 38 years

Valecraft is excited that its St. Thomas community in Embrun, Ontario has sold out of the current phase – but don’t worry, the team will soon have a new phase of the homes available, including a lineup of award-winning townhomes. This is the first time in 38 years that they’ve offered towns in this community! Learn about their lineup and why Embrun— located just south of the Trans-Canada Highway and giving you easy access to Ottawa, Montreal, and everywhere in-between — is the idyllic location.

Catch a double feature this month at Place des Festivals Zibi

A new urban drive-in will be showing movies beginning July 9 at Place des Festivals Zibi for two weekends in August (20-21-22 and 28-29). Starting at 7:30 p.m., each drive-in evening will offer double features with two radio channels reserved for the audio, allowing spectators to watch the movies in French or English. Love the location? Don’t forget that #CanadaPerfoms at the RBC Bluesfest Drive-in on August 1, 7 and 8 in the same spot. Check out zibi.ca/things-to-do/ for all the info.

Bucolic Clarence Crossing

eQ Homes’ Clarence Crossing community, located in Clarence-Rockland on the banks of the Ottawa River, has such a lovely community pathway and lookout. There are so many shades of green to enjoy as well as the glorious sounds of nature. You can now view the Foxwood condo model Alder design when you visit. Every unit is a corner unit, and there are only 11 suites available. Alain is at the sales office and ready to take appointments at 235 L’Etang Street. Contact information is in the Builder’s Index in the back of the magazine.

A guide to Farmers’ Markets around Ottawa

A summer staple in many communities is the local Farmers’ Market. It’s a place to meet your local makers, bakers, growers, sewers and everyone in between. A place that brings a sense of community to any area, whether it is new or established, these markets are a place where neighbours gather, and vendors are always more than willing to answer questions.
